Interpretation Guide
Positive Balance
Intake > Output. Watch for fluid overload, edema, respiratory changes.
Balanced
Intake ≈ Output. Normal fluid homeostasis.
Negative Balance
Output > Intake. Watch for dehydration, hypotension, decreased urine output.
Normal urine output: 0.5–1 mL/kg/hr
